It seems like we've been following this plywood vet forever, or at least since January, and finally, this coming Friday the Japanese robata restaurant will soft open on Third Street. Remember that recent J.Gold review where he totally blew up that ramen spot in the valley, Jinya? Well, let's put one plus one together, so yes, this Third Street venue comes from the same owner who oversees seven restaurants in Japan and one in Hong Kong. If Jinya in the valley is any indication of food quality to expect at Robata Jinya, than mid-city residents are in for a treat.
Yesterday Eater popped by the space, met the owner (who speaks NO english), checked out the samaris presiding over the bar, behind which sits the robata bar/station ready for grilled meats and veggies. Through a translator Eater leaned that LA could be graced with another three to four Jinya concepts, though no set locations have been selected. For now, after months of anticipation, the wait is over, welcome to Third Street's newest hot spot (literally).
