At long last, over a year since our original musings, Med Abrous and Marc Rose debut The Spare Room inside the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood tomorrow with Chris Holmes and Shepard Fairey DJing. Shepard DJs? Per the press release, this new venue located on the floor above Teddy's offers "unparalleled amenities to guests as well as a unique destination for Hollywood's architects of influence. Taking inspiration from a time that once was, this modern day parlor highlights the camaraderie and spirit of gaming with two reclaimed bowling lanes and custom built backgammon tables. Combining cocktail and culinary culture along with exceptional service, The Spare Room is a social experience where details (and taste) matter."
The old school cocktails with a twist were conceived by barman Aidan Demarest who most recently helped open 1886 in Pasadena. Expect extra fresh fruit from the Santa Monica and Hollywood farmers markets, house-made syrups, all that jazz. The Spare Room is open Monday, Wednesday-Saturday, 6PM to 2AM, resys encouraged (323-769-7296).
