There's a new Italian spot headed to the former Podley Realtors building on S. Lake Ave in Pasadena under the name Trattoria Neapolis. Hatch Design (Tin Roof Bistro, Water Grill) is working out the creative with construction headed up by CalAsia. Owner Perry Vidalakis has yet to hire a chef, but the overall concept is Southern Italian with a focus on Neapolitan pizzas fired in a wood-burning oven. The restaurant will even house a temperature-controlled room to make and store the pizza dough. The buildout is underway, watch for an opening early 2012. [EaterWire] photo
