Crust Coming to Studio City, Pizzeria Mozza OC Could Lose License to Booze, Patina Alumni Dinner

New, 4 comments

STUDIO CITY— A reader spots a banner for Australian pizza chain Crust, popping up in a space on Ventura between Kawami and Laurel Tavern. With the new addition of Black Market, the stretch of Ventura between Carpenter and Radford appears to be the new hotness. Here's an early placeholder for Crust's US website, the first American location is expected to debut early 2012. [EaterWire]

OC— Uh-oh. That new branch of Pizzeria Mozza in Newport Beach could lost its liquor license, says the LAT. A local planning commissioner appealed the decision to grant the restaurant a liquor license for fear that a bar serving booze would result in loud customers who would "disturb residents on a bluff above the restaurant." A hearing is set for Oct 20. [LAT]
