In effort to act in a more eco-conscious manner, some restaurants around town have gone bottle-free. Which is great. But if you can't kick the bottle, be wary which you choose. Some companies have created "greener" bottles that supposedly biodegrade more quickly, but according to CA state attorney general Kamala Harris, these claims are false. She has filed a suit against bottle manufacturer ENSO, which claims that its bottles biodegrade in fewer than five years. She also cites that the company calls its bottles recyclable "when, in reality, plastic recyclers consider such bottles a contaminant and will separate them from recyclable plastics." ENSO company president Danny Clark defends the bottle technology. [HuffPo]
