Jonathan Gold's 99 Essential LA Restaurants, 2011

Jonathan Gold's annual anchor of 99 Essential LA Restaurants is out. He's disappointed that fine dining didn't mack a comeback in 2011. Instead, he says "It has become a street-food world" in which avant garde food has been made approachable to everyone thanks to chefs like Sang Yoon (Lukshon), Roy Choi (Kogi), and David Chang (Momofuku- NYC).

So, naturally, new addition to the list this year sound like A-Frame, Cacao, Fab Hot Dogs, NIGHT+MARKET, Spice Table, Tsujita L.A., though ink., Mezze, Picca, Playa, and Ray's do take their place in line as well, among others.
