Cafe Lobos Now Open, Morton's Cigar Menu Tasting

HIGHLAND PARK—A reader writes in to share: "Cafe Lobos just opened up in the former Marty's spot on York Blvd. in Highland Park. I haven't been in so I can't comment on the menu but it looks like they're open for lunch and dinner, and brunch on weekends. It has a much different look than the old space, bright and colorful, that hopefully will be a better fit in the neighborhood." [EaterWire]

ECHO PARK— The two guys behind Hot Knives -- Evan George and Alex Brown -- will be signing copies of their new book, Salad Daze at Stories Books & Cafe in Echo Park. Besides a signed book, learn how to make KniQuil, a whiskey-based, home-made version of NyQuil. [EaterWire]

BURBANK— Next Tuesday, November 15, Morton's Steakhouse in Burbank hosts a menu tasting paired with wine and cigars.
