A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That, For Sale at The Artisan House, Now Soft Open

The influx of slashers (market/cafe/wine shop/deli/etc) continues from L'Epicerie to Local 1205, and now to The Artisan House, currently soft open with an official debut set for December 8 on the ground floor of the Pacific Electric Building at Main and 6th.

The Artisan House is more practical than fancy, with the right amount of rustic charm and, in effort to serve its nabe, offers a little something for everyone. Want to catch a drink? Grab lunch? Snag some charcuterie for that dinner party? Dine with a big group of friends? Dine solo? Scoop a bottle of vino? Run out of hand soap? Are you hungover and need hydration? All that and more in one fell swoop.

Let's start with the menus. All EIGHT of them. Overall the theme here is Cali-Mediterranean crafted by executive chef Jason Ryczek (One Sunset, Boa), with guidance from managing partner Patrice Rozat (Mr. Chow). View at your own leisure: Brunch, Lunch, BYO Sandwich, All Day, Dinner, Deli Blackboard, Deli Paper, Pastry. Phew. Slightly on the pricier side, sandwiches ring in at about $10, most lunch plates span the teens, meanwhile dinner entrees generally cost under $30. And, in addition to allll of that, there's also a cheese cart and dessert cart. Plus a separate retail section that stocks house-made private label goods like oils, dried fruits, preserves, and olives.

In the department of alcohol, one has the option to buy a bottle for take-home, or sidle up to the 14-seater (separate limited food menu here) which is run by Elden McFeron III (The Abbey, Samba, The Bazaar). Drawing from experience at The Bazaar, a few liquid nitro cocktails are on offer like the El Margarita and Blood N Sand Artisan Way (a “square” of Scotch topped with orange foam, orange zest, drizzled cherry brandy and sweet vermouth reduction). There's a full bar though, so no need to go molecular.

Hours of operation run Monday through Friday for lunch from 11:30AM to 2:30PM seven nights a week for dinner from 5:30 to 10:30PM, and for Saturday and Sunday brunch from 9:30AM to 2:30PM. The bar is open daily from 11:30AM-1:30AM. The deli/market is open Sunday through Wednesday from 7AM to midnight, and Thursday through Saturday from 7AM to 3AM.
