Over the summer Randy Hoffman and David Yost, co-owners of South Pasadena's Wild Thyme Bakery & Cafe, shuttered the restaurant after 22 years of service. Now, in its place they are preparing to open The Canoe House, a Hawaiian fusion concept built around burgers, sausages, and tropical plates like coconut prawns and Kalua pork. Per Craigslist, Hoffman and Yost are on the hunt for two managers to equip their "high energy Hawaiian themed concept," and while originally they had planned to open by the end of 2011, it seems likely that the launch will be pushed to early next year. Other noteworthy additions: a full bar, "large" selection of draft beer, and tvs.
