WeHo Carl's Jr. Shutters, Orris Donzo in January, Shunji Nakao Moves into The Shuttered Mr.Cecil's

1) WeHo: A shutter from fast food land. Last weekend, the Carl's Jr. on La Brea near Santa Monica closed up shop. Perhaps, for this? [EaterWire]

2) West LA: As noted on the Orris website, Chef Hideo Yamashiro, aka chef Shiro, has decided to end the run of his American small plates restaurant on Sawtelle at the end of January. Apparently the tough economy is to blame, though the closing note does add, "Look out for future projects from Shiro coming soon." Word on the street is that Shiro will actually keep the space but launch a new concept. [EaterWire]

3) West LA: On December 18 Mr. Cecil's ended the run of its Pico Blvd. Californai rib joint because of a steep rent increase. Manhattan Beach and The Valley still remain but purportedly are being shopped around. Meanwhile, Shunji Nakao of Asanebo fame (who also launched the short lived Shunji's earlier this year), has stepped up to next claim the West LA eatery. [EaterWire]
