Eight Months Later and Phil's Diner is Doneski

New, 3 comments

Earlier this year Phil's Diner, the historic pink railcar restaurant, relocated from Chandler Blvd. to Lankershim Blvd., and new owners Malissa and Casey Hallenbeck brought in a healthier version of fast food using local product, hormone-free proteins, and other eco efforts. Thusly, they also renamed the restaurant to Phil's Diner Fresh-n-Fast. Unfortunately, just eight months after its relaunch, the diner has shuttered and is up for grabs.

The Hallenbecks cite many reasons for the venture's failure and, as a result, now they are facing debt, personal bankruptcy, and foreclosure on their home.
