Downtown is about to amp up its hip factor. Not only is Ben Pundole and Ed Scheetz introducing a new King & Grove property to S. Hill Street's Hotel Clark, but now The Hollywood Reporter writes that the Ace Hotel is moving into the historic United Artists building on Broadway at 9th. Although reps for The Ace remain mum, "[m]ultiple sources" have confirmed to THR that an agreement has been reached between the hotel and real estate group Greenfield Partners.
Of course that means a new restaurant is moving in, too. Or maybe even restaurantS. Ace Hotel operates boutique properties in NYC, Palm Springs, Portland, and Seattle. Across the board, The Ace serves coffee from the revered Portland-based purveyor Stumptown Coffee (some hotels house actual Stumptown cafes), though each of its locations operate uniquely different restaurants appropriate to the property's environs. The most notable of which is probably The Breslin and The John Dory, both in The Ace New York. An exciting addition Downtown, for sure.
