Upright Citizen's Brigade fans have another dining option in Franklin Village: Franklin & Company Local Tavern, from owner Greg Morris (The Oaks Gourmet) is now open. As previously reported, Morris planned to turn the former Prizzi's space into a gastropub. He's delivered on that promise, with a menu of home-style bites, 12 rotating taps of beer (and some of wine), a large bar, tufted leather and lots of wood.
The bar menu includes: house-made bleu cheese tater tots, scotch eggs, ahi tuna tacos, and fried oysters Rockefeller. The place has a full liquor license, so seasonal cocktails are on offer as well. Morris plans to host monthly tasting dinners as 2012 progresses. Open now daily for lunch and dinner; Saturdays and Sundays, open for brunch and late supper.
