Pablo Moix and Steve Livigni, the duo behind such lauded projects as La Descarga, Harvard & Stone, and the newer Black Market, recently signed on to overhaul the beverage program at chef and owner Josiah Citrin's fine dining French affair, Mélisse. Slated to launch in early January, Moix and Livigni plan to serve a list of, per Moix, "elegant and sexy" classic and original cocktails (one has avocado!) focused on savory flavors to pair with food.
One menu of about 10 or so house cocktails and a second roster of drinks to pair with Mélisse's amuse bouches.
Other than mixed drinks, expect an entirely revamped spirits selection, such as rums for sipping. In conclusion, Moix would like to give a little shout out to the James Beard Awards judges: "James Beard judges, might I recommend consideration for Mélisse's outstanding bar program?" [EaterWire]
