Although we have shared quite a few details on the impending Umami behemoth known as UMAMIcatessen, we have yet to actually see the space under construction at 9th and Broadway. Until now. Per the last update and current exterior signage, this experimental restaurant/deli/bar, with its arsenal of supposedly big deal chefs (so far only Chris Cosentino from SF has been announced), is scheduled to open early 2012. However, peering into the currently situation of ply, realistically it appears as though that premiere will hit later in the year. What to expect once open? A kosher-style deli called The Cure, a more developed version of Umami Burger, and a 170-seat dining hall (and bar) with five different kitchens under the guidance of top chefs.
