MID-CITY A while back Eater heard that George Abou-Daoud (Mercantile, District, Bowery) was looking to open a spot on the up and coming stretch of Fairfax between 3rd Street and Santa Monica Blvd. Mondette snags a plywood shot with signage announcing Rosewood Tavern headed by Bowery Street Enterprise. AROUND TOWN Homeboy Industries' chips and salsa are a hit! Daily Dish reports that "the hottest-selling snack item at 256 Ralphs deli sections across Southern California in the first weeks of February ...was Homeboy Industries' tortilla chips and salsa." [DD]
