Tru and 1 Below Open February 25 in Hollywood

On February 25 1600 N. Argyle finally lives again as Tru, a three level club and dining experience modeled after Old Hollywood. It's hard to tell in the red! photos above, but all that glitters is not gold, at Tru all that glitters comes from quartz wallpaper, "sparkling diamond walls," and "a veil of crystals" that "rains down from the ceiling." Interesting. Of course there is the requisite dj booth, dance floor, and a plush VIP retreat, for a breath of fresh air patrons can hit the inside/outside mezzanine level connected via a massive glass wall from the main space. More importantly, however, is what lies below. A second private bar and lounge called 1 Below sits under Tru's main floor. Here sofas are velvet and the color of choice is crimson. Aside from drinking, bottle service, and all that excitement, Tru has hired chef Samuel Moen to craft a small plate mostly American menu. The selections are pretty standard, one will find crab cakes and fried calamari, Kobe sliders, chicken skewers, fried ravioli, that sort of thing.
