CULVER CITY Kiowa Bryan, Fraiche's master mixologist, has departed the French-Italian mainstay for greener grass in Hollywood: "I am respectfully bowing out and moving on to a new and exciting project in Hollywood." Stay tuned. [EaterWire]

MID-CITY Watch out Whole Foods. Per Curbed, looks like Trader Joe's may open a market on the corner of Fairfax and 3rd in the new mid-century complex developed by A.F. Gilmore. [Curbed]

SANTA MONICA A Hamburger Today drops by R+D Kitchen to bite a burger. The consensus: "The R + D Cheeseburger is [a] classic looking burger that is piled so highly with toppings each half needs a couple of stakes to hold together. Along with the lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, and cheddar cheese is a battalion of condiments. Mustard and mayo adorn the top half of the bun and on the bottom is a slathering of hickory sauce...The bun is a homemade egg bun that gets a smattering of sesame seeds and is quite good...the patty...is actually quite good...The problem is that not much could stand up to all the toppings and condiments."
