Peering into Ray's and Stark Bar is like looking at a spread from Design Within Reach. Assorted colorful Herman Miller chairs over here, red Saarinen chairs over there, metal Bertoia chairs outside and at the bar, SO much design going on here. But hey, this is a Patina Group restaurant and bar attached to an art museum: LACMA. So, it makes sense. Stark Bar serves drinkable selections crafted by Neve Ice founder Michel Dozois, here is the full list of classics and then some, which have been offered since February 26. The bar's sister restaurant, Ray's, debuted dinner service just last night with lunch to follow on March 5. In the kitchen one will find Kris Morningstar (Blue Velvet, District) who executes a Mediterranean-inspired farm-to-table menu (plus bar menu) with many dishes cooked in the restaurant's wood-burning oven and wood grill. Ray's is open for dinner from 5-10PM and Stark Bar serves from 11AM-11PM. Both the restaurant and bar are closed Wednesdays.
