Last night Villetta held that soft opening preview of its rustic Italian digs. An unusually westside crowd -- which one party-goer described as wealthy old investors with 20-something personal trainer wives, the botox and restylane set, occasional celebs like Tom Arnold, and genuinely curious foodies and press -- noshed on truffled fondue; bufala ricotta with pistachios and truffle honey; and raviolini with nettles, borage and creamy walnut sauce.
As one can see up above, the indoor/outdoor eatery appears open and airy, rustic touches like exposed brick, reclaimed wood tables, and stucco walls add a dated Old World feel. Overall the restaurant doesn't appear to be overdone, a ton of foliage outside adds a lush garden feel, meanwhile indoor fireplaces give the unadorned space an extra cozy factor. Right now the opening is set for April 4, but that date may very well change.
