Slowly details continue to trickle in for Cochon 555, that roving cooking competition and tasting event in which five local chefs (Octavio Beccera of Palate Food & Wine; Chad Colby of Mozza; Suzanne Tracht of Jar; Ben Ford of Ford's Filling Station; and Joshua Whigham of Jose Andres' Bazaar at the SLS Hotel) prepare a menu of heritage breed pig from snout to tail. Dishes will be paired with wines from Scholium Project, Alysian, Arnot-Roberts, Copain Wines and Red Car Wine.
This year marks Cochon 555's third annual tour and the first time it had come to LA. Festivities go down May 1 at Vibiana downtown, 5PM, general admission tickets cost $125, or $175 to roll VIP (this includes 3:30PM early admission, a private tasting of West Sonoma Coast Vintners including Failla, Peay, Turley, Red Car, Freestone, Fort Ross and Freeman, plus cheese and oysters).
