Yikes! For almost 30 years Wolfgang Puck, one of Los Angeles' original restaurateurs, has supported and participated in this city's premiere food event, The American Wine and Food Festiaval. Not only does Puck cook at the actual event, but he also hosts a pricey ($750 a head) Chefs Grand Tasting Dinner each year at his epitomes Beverly Hills mainstay, Spago. But, eek, Zagat brings word that Puck has split from the AWFF. According to his PR team, "While Wolfgang Puck will not be participating in the American Wine and Food Festival in 2011, he will continue to raise funds for and support the Meals on Wheels foundation, a program that he has supported for years through a variety of charitable activities." However, apparently this isn't necessarily the end of WP+AWFF. Puck's longtime Senior Managing Partner Tom Kaplan keeps details close to the vest, saying that he "can't explain yet but it will be an evolution of that event.
