Remember those proposed changes from last September slated to revamp Duke's on Sunset? New owner Adam Newton (of NYC's Cafeteria) had taken control of the ancient eatery to introduce a rock 'n' roll theme, bring back old school menu faves, and also launch a bar above Duke's called Morrison Room (named after Jim Morrison who once lived in the apartment above).
Here now a slight update. Duke's has launched a slew of new menus from food to drink in effort to keep current. While one can still pop by Duke's for comfort classics like mac and cheese or a club sandwich, the restaurant now serves locally farmed meats in elevated dishes like Pan Seared New York Steak with Peppercorn Sauce, and there are even some vegetarian and vegan options now. As for the wine and beer list, look for organic California wines and local beers. And on the subject of Morrison Room, it's currently under construction, no word on opening date just yet.
