Aha, just as we thought -- Waylynn Lucas, previous pastry chef at The Bazaar and Patina -- has snapped up the shuttered Kiss My Bundt space on West 3rd Street to open a spot called (f?nuts) aka faux donuts because they are baked not fried. Lucas has pooled pastry skills with biz partner Nancy Truman who invented the fonut concept. Expect sweet, savory, classic, and avant garde fonuts slated to serve on National Doughnut Day, June 3.
