Does a restaurant called Azami Sushi ring a bell? It was on Melrose, an all female sushi chef-run show headed by Niki Nakayama. Her family was and still is in the fishing biz giving her fast access to incredibly fresh fish. Azami called it quits back in 2008, and a year later we heard that Niki intended to open her own sushi spot in West LA. Here now, the reveal of N/Naka. Beautiful in its serene simplicity, come by this nine table restaurant (there are private rooms too) for meticulously prepared omakase and only omakase, with fresh herbs clipped from the restaurant's own organic garden. At N/Naka one must make a reservation in advance, hours of operation run Tuesday to Saturday, 6-9PM.
