Into the shuttered Gyenari space in Culver City comes a new Korean concept called MoKo, short for Modern Korean. Chris Heyman (Table 8, 8 oz.) along with chef Gary Robins (Georgio's Cucina, Russian Tea Room- NYC) and restaurateur Will Shin plans to reopen the venue on April 26 serving small plates such as bbq skewers of Zucchini and Mushroom marinated in sweet soy, with rice cakes, and green chilies; Pan Fried Duck and Foie Gras Potstickers with sour cherry dipping sauce; Grilled Prawns wrapped in jjin bahng with avocado and aji amarillo ssam jang; Kimchi Jeon with apple smoked bacon and green onions topped with crisp pork belly and chili plum sauce; and Japchae sweet potato glass noodles stir fried with kurobuta pork, wild mushrooms, carrots, onions and green chilies.
