Chef Jose Prado (The Ivy), whose extended family runs a collective of LA restaurants including Cha Cha Cha, Prado, Cha Cha Chicken, and Pinches Tacos, will soft open his second solo venture (launched The Belmont Pier in 1984), Primavera, on Monday. Check out the smallish narrow restaurant with exposed brick walls, a granite countertop up front, and just a handful of two and four-tops spanning the length of the restaurant. Prado will serve a fusion of seasonal California dishes mixed with both European and Latin influences.
When the restaurant rolls out service on Monday, only a limited menu will be offered, expect dishes like: Crab Cakes with Home Made Tartar Sauce; Chicken Sopes with Grilled Garden Vegetables; Oven Roasted White Fish Sauteed with Cherry Tomatoes; Plantains; New York Steak with Home Made Barbecue Sauce; Sweet Corn Tamales; Barbecue Salad with Fresh Grilled Vegetables in Light Dijon Vinaigrette; Tortilla Soup; and Cajun Shrimp in a Spicy Black Pepper Sauce. To drink, mostly local bottled beers, a mixed assortment of vino, and signature house-made sangria.
