What perfect timing, a new burger spot on which to report. But the location? Err... within a small shopping complex kitty-corner to the original Umami on La Brea and 9th. Really? Good luck to OBO Burger (which replaced Greece's Barbecue/New York Barbeque), a new quick-serve, casual burger concept focusing on "heathy" burger constructions (sounds a bit like O! Burger). The house signature is a creation called the Tamarind Turkey Burger, composed of a house-made turkey patty topped with swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, and house-made tamarind sauce. There are a few meat compositions, plus some veggie-friendly options as well, burgers cost between $8.50 and $10.50, but include a side, either fries or a salad, and a fountain drink. So, you're basically paying slightly less than you would at Umami, but you're also landing a few extras. OBO Burger is open daily from 11AM-10PM. Score 10% off your meal via Yelp.
