We've been holding off on posting these interior shots from LGO's The Misfit for the past 24 hours since the restaurant's PR team wanted to fill us in on some "extra details." The restaurant opened today, those extra details never hit our inbox, so before wrapping out for the day, here's what going on in the former home to Anisette. As evident above, many elements from Anisette days still remain.
Update: Fresh details to add. The Misfit embodies early 20th century "casual Americana," and strives to capture the feel of restaurant dining in a bar-oriented setting. Drinks are relatively inexpensive at $9 for a signature cocktail, and food, especially for this Promenade-y area of Santa Monica, is on the less expensive side with most dishes costing under $20. Score. And, for an even better deal, pop by Monday-Friday from 3-7PM for half off well beverages, and $5 wine and beer offerings.
The tile floor is the same, those hanging orb lights have not moved, sconces, wooden wall paneling, and white wall tiles all unchanged. We do notice new furniture, looks like Anisette's long red banquette has been switched to brown, and the restaurant's main focal point, the bar, has added over-exaggerated curtains. As previously reported, The Misfit offers an American menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus signature cocktails, beer/wine, and a short list of late night eats. Come on down for mac and cheese or mini lobster rolls served from 10PM to close. The Misfit is open daily from 11AM to midnight, serving until 1AM on Friday and Saturday night.
