Pazzo Gelato, Kitchen 24, The Six All Claim New Ground

1) Echo Park: Toasted Almond Fig, Buttered Brown Sugar, Fior di Latte with Honey -- those are just a few unique gelato flavors offered at perennially popular Pazzo Gelato. But good news, the Silver Lake shop plans to open a second outlet this June in Echo Park, about a mile east in the Citibank building. And owner Mike Buch intends to branch out from his gelato offerings. In addition to 18 flavors he will also serve sandwiches, baked goods, coffee and fresh-squeezed juices. [The Eastsider]

2) WeHo: Just over a year ago came word that hip Hollywood diner, Kitchen 24, was looking to open a second eatery in West Hollywood. Confirmation just in that the new location lands at 8571 Santa Monica Boulevard. Kris Keith of Spacecraft has committed to handle design work and will recreate a similar feel to the Hollywood restauant without it being a "cardboard cutout." Construction begins next month, the venue should open in the Fall. [EaterWire] — YE

3) Venice: Last year Jake King, co-owner of West LA's The Six, revealed plans to open a new eatery around the Venice area. At the time he remained mum on details, but according to Grub Street, the new restaurant is actually a second location for The Six. [Grub Street]
