Wirtshaus Replaces Sante La Brea with German Brews & Bites

New, 4 comments

The German beer bar trend continues with Wirtshaus, claiming the defunct Sante La Brea space on La Brea at Beverly. After about three years of conceptualization, owner Bjoern Risse will launch his freshman hospitality effort in the form of a German beer garden slated to offer "authentic German food" (schnitzel, sausages, potato pancakes, fresh soups) in addition to 30 German beers and a selection of wine from Germany, Austria, and California.

Risse explains that construction for Wirtshaus should begin in about two weeks, and he plans to officially open on July 1. Check out the Sante La Brea shots above, that side patio will remain mostly untouched.
