WEST LA— After 40 years of biz, Sawtelle's Japanese-Hawaiian market, Safe & Save, will shutter indefinitely. [Twitter]
MALIBU— Many Angelenos don't realize how many vineyards are situated in Malibu, and it would only make sense to open a tasting room devoted to the juice of local grapes. Enter: the old Malibu Courthouse, which most recently played host to Terra restaurant. Owners plan to open The Malibu Tasting Room in this space and pour vino culled from Malibu vineyards plus a few others from the Central Coast. Tapas will be served, too. [Grub Street]
ATWATER VILLAGE— Before Mohawk Bend could even open, owner Tony Yanow already has his sights set on another project, a 150 seat restaurant and 100,000-barrel a year brewery. [The Eastsider]
WEHO— This is the opposite of interesting, but it's our duty to update you on all things food and drink. So, just a heads up, Soy Sauce Roll & Bowl will open next month on Sunset at Olive Drive. [Grub Street]
