1) Santa Monica: A tipster spots signage for Red Rooster Bakery, slated to apparently open this Spring on Pico between 11th and 12th. No word on operators or opening date just yet. [EaterWire]

2) Downtown: Into the shuttered Famima!! space on Figueroa comes a branch of European organic restaurant chain Planetalis. From the looks of its menu, this is another sandwich/salad place with a few hot entrees all following a healthy food mantra. Kelly Architects has signed on to design the space, Brigham Yen shares some early renderings. [BY]

3) Echo Park: Daily Dish takes a tour inside Tony Yanow's (Tony's Darts Away) eagerly anticipate pizza and beer experiment, Mohawk Bend. The 10,000-square-foot restaurant is divided into four areas: a covered front patio, a dining area called "the quad," a bar space with open kitchen, and the main dining room titled "the Ramona Room." Eats will be vegan and non-vegan, with a long list of pizzas, in addition to other gastropub-y fare. Expect 65 California craft beers on tap and cocktails mixed with craft distillates. [DD]

4) Hermosa Beach: And speaking of gastropub-esque ventures, a spot called The Rockefeller is expected to open May 20 on Pier Ave (check out plywood shots here). Anticipate 24 craft beers on tap, 16 rotating wines, and an American pub menu helmed by executive chef Christopher Damon. [Grub Street]

5) Venice: We received a note in our inbox about a new juicery opening near Venice Beach Wines on Rose called Moon Juice. So far we know that Sean Knibb, who designed A-Frame, is working on interiors, and the venue should open this summer. [EaterWire]

6) Downtown: What an appropriate name of a new wine and craft beer shop: Buzz. Love it. Owners plan to sell 4,000 boutique wines from 33 countires, 80 bottled beers, 200 keg beers, plus soju and sake. [Grub Street]

7) Mid-City: So, Spacecraft is handling the redesign of Rama (which was open for, like, five seconds) into a Frenchy bistro called Avec Moi. Apparently Alex Thao, who owned Rama, is heading up this overhaul. [Mondette, The Feast]

8) West LA: If you're around the Sawtelle vicinity this summer, cool down at Blockheads Shavery Co., a Hawaiian ice and ice cream parlor opening on Mississippi Ave. [Grub Street]
