Pizza headed downtown. Just yesterday the replacement for Wolfgang Puck Bistro LA fired its oven and posted signage: Urbano Pizza Bar, next door to Library Bar at the corner of 6th and Hope. Earlier this week, on Tuesday, an Eater reader noticed a line out the door of people interviewing for jobs.
Library Bar owners Michael Leko and William Shamlian are responsible for this venture, they are also the driving force behind two other newly opened downtown haunts, Spring Street and Coffee Bar. And on May 23 the duo debuts the above pictured industrial, rustic, chic Urbano, a wood-fired pizza eatery with, what appears to be, tons of reclaimed wood and (per Brigham Yen) hand-picked elementary school chairs. More to come on edibles.
