Flying Pig Cafe Pretties Its Walls In Prep For June Debut

Here's what going on at the Flying Pig Cafe downtown. The eatery is preparing for its June debut, and yesterday Eater popped by to check out the artwork going up by Australian graffiti artist Stuart Stark. Stark has created two murals for the space, one of a flying pig soaring over downtown, and the other a chalkboard pig. And actually there's an interactive element here because when the restaurant opens, guests will be encouraged to add to/tag the chalkboard piece.
Right now the space appears quite bare, but Laura Burkhalter Design Studio was brought on board to create a modern, urban/rustic feel. Think white tile walls, leather booths, and an communal Ipê wood table up front. The Flying Pig Cafe will offer lunch and dinner, serving guests larger portions of the Flying Pig truck's tried and true staples along with a few new creations from chef/owner Joe Kim.
