1) Hollywood: Four months after word broke that New York hot dog institution Papaya King had teamed up with sbe and Sam Nazarian, the opening day has finally arrived. Papaya King kicks off its inaugural day of service at 11AM. Menu here, interior shots to come. 1645 Wilcox Ave, Hollywood

2) West LA: Per The Feast, Bru Haus soft opened last week in the former Hana Sushi space on Wilshire (the grand opening isn't until June 11). There are 25 beers on tap, 32 available by bottle, mostly craft selections. 11831 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles

3) Burbank: Remember the lightly lamented Third & Olive in downtown Burbank? Well, Another Broken Egg Cafe opened this morning in its place. The national franchise believes that "breakfast and brunch are the most important meal times of the day," which explains why the menu centers around the egg and other breakfasty fare. On offer, over two dozen omelette options, scrambles, Benedicts, pancakes, waffles, French toast, plus some burgers, sandwiches and salads. Another Broken Egg Cafe is open daily from 7am-2:30pm. 250 E. Olive Ave, Burbank

4) Mid City: The Veggie Grill at The Farmer's Market on Third and Fairfax opens its orange and green doors today at 11AM after several months of construction. This is the first location that has launched under the direction of new CEO Greg Dollarhyde (formerly Baja Fresh). Everything about this location is the same as the others, though they have yet to obtain their beer and wine license. Popular for its vegan fare, continued expansion for this privately owned company seems certain. 6333 West 3rd St, Los Angeles — DG

5) Downtown: Daily Dish discovers a new "Peruvian soul food" take out window in Grand Central Market called Chimu. The mini eatery commenced service early last week and is a joint production from Mario Alberto (sous chef at Lazy Ox Canteen and former Mo-Chica chef/partner), and Jason Michaud (Local). Daily specials are listed on a chalkboard outside the window. 324 S. Hill St, Los Angeles
