After a not so simple nip/tuck, here's the rejiggered interior of Hana Sushi, now soft open as Bru Haus, or just "Bar" per exterior signage. This rustic/industrial little number is a project from Houston's co-founder Vic Branstetter (The Branstetter Group) with chef Charlie Hwang (M Cafe) helming the kitchen. Beer obviously is the focus with 25 taps (Allagash Curieux, Duvel Green, Unibroue Maudite) plus 32 bottle choices, and the menu hits the alcohol-absorbing basics inclusive of exotic sausages and a burger. Smack-dab between Q's and Cabo Cantina, this is one more place not to grab a vodka tonic.
