Noir Wine Bar To Be Replaced By "Rascal" American Eatery

What a long strange trip it has been for Shabu Shabu Ya on La Brea. Or, well, maybe not that long but still more changes afoot. Over a year ago came word that the Japanese eatery had abruptly shuttered, and shortly thereafter a new tapas spot called Noir Wine Bar moved in. Apparently locals didn't quite take to the small plates and wine concept because months later Noir posted signage announcing that shabu shabu had returned to the restaurant (though the establishment maintained its name as Noir). Confused yet? There's more.

A new ABC license was recently posted in Noir's window broadcasting a change of ownership under "Rascal Management" for a new venue called Rascal. Noir, which serves shabu shabu, will remain open for one more month, at which point Rascal will step in to serve American cuisine.
