Alan Jackson, principal and driving force behind Los Angeles' Lemonade chainlet, introduced his sixth cafe on Wednesday in the former Clay Pit space on Barrington (location seven is planned for Pasadena). Just like the prior eateries which span the city from Venice to West Hollywood to Downtown, Brentwood has that same slick, clean, retro feel thanks in part to colorful yellow furniture and a glass facade. As one would expect, dishes of food are lined up cafeteria-style behind a glass partition, grab a tray, get in line, as serves dish out your choice of seasonal edibles. FYI, today's soup of the day is Mushroom and Tortilla. To drink, as the name would suggest, Lemonade offers flavored lemonades in addition to beer and wine. Venice is the only other outpost that offers booze. Right now though, there's just vino, beer is still to come. Lemonade Brentwood is open daily from 11AM-9:05. Yeah, 9:05.
