Today the NY Times profiles the hotly anticipated opening of Papaya King, the 80+ year-old NYC hot dog and tropical drink staple. The article describes LA as "a city that might be as crazy and competitive about food — and hot dogs — as New York," thank you very much, in the past Pink's has served as LA's hot dog institution. So it should be interesting to see how the two fare against each other. In other news, Sam Nazarian says that after bringing Papaya King to LA he plans to open other locations "across the West."
