Homeboy Diner Opens, Baller Dinner at Providence, More!

DOWNTOWN— So, the name has been changed from Homeboy General Store to Homeboy Diner, and yesterday at 10AM Homeboy Industries, the non-profit that employs ex gang members, held a press conference to announce its newest addition on the second floor of City Hall. Homeboy Diner serves a medley of Mexican dishes from Homeboy Bakery and Homegirl Café. Hours of operation run M-F, 6:30AM-6PM. [EaterWire]

HOLLYWOOD— Holy epicness. Providence has culled an all-star team for a fancy fancy feast to celebrate the recently published guidebook, Opinionated About U.S. Restaurants 2011. Michael Cimarusti, Ludo Lefebvre, Hiro Urasawa (!!!!!), and Ricardo Zarate will work together to prepare nine courses. Dinner costs $195 a head and four seatings are available (6PM, 6:30PM, 9PM, 9:30PM). [EaterWire]
