California Monster Salads Opening Later This Week in SM

New, 1 comment

Earlier this year came word of California Monster Salads, a new build-your-own salad cafe which took over the former Three Dog Bakery space on Santa Monica Blvd in Santa Monica. After months of construction, the casual eatery is finally ready to open toward the end of this week. First time restaurant owner Daniel Radell has been wanting to open a cafe since 2007, but couldn’t find the right location. However, he was sold on this space and decided to build an entirely green restaurant with pretty much everything from construction to design elements crafted out of recycled materials.

Just like at Greens Up!, all 13 salad dressing will be made from scratch and are original recipes created Simon. For build-your-own salads, patrons can choose up to five toppings. There will also be a few signature salads like The Heirloom Tuna Micro Green, an antioxidant mix of tuna, capers, kalamata olive, and grape seed oil. If you're in a time crunch and need to grab a salad and go, Radell and Simon came up with the “salad cone,”
basically a bread cone filled with salad. Prices range from $8.50 - $10.
