It's hard to believe that The Smokin' Joint BBQ opened its doors on West Third Street across from The Beverly Connection nearly two years ago. Sadly, the restaurant never seemed more than half full. After receiving mixed reviews, the place closed its doors about a month ago for "renovations." Then, that sign came off and The Smokin' Joint was just closed, without reason. And now, still closed, with furniture inside and debris outside, the sign says, "WE ARE ON VACATION SEE YOU SOON!!!" The owners did not respond when Eater reached out for a confirmation, but the "CLOSED" tag has been added to their Yelp page. [EaterWire]
