Changes afoot at Seven Grand, downtown's whiskey repository. Rich Ohtsuka replaced lead barman Matt Wallace and GM David Fliesher has been superseded by Angus McShane (The Edison, Copa d’Oro). Since taking over McShane switched up the cocktail menu introducing new seasonal refreshments inspired by single malt whiskey from Scotland, Japan, India, Ireland and the US. Two punches are now on offer as well: Canadian Punch which costs $90 and serves 10 imbibers (rye whiskey, Jamaican rum, fresh pineapple, fresh lemon) and Kentucky River Fish Kill Punch at $85 for 10 (rye whiskey, Aperol, rhubarb liqueur, fresh grapefruit, grated cinnamon, prosecco). This is the first menu amendment since the bar's inception back in 2007.
