On Monday came word that Patina Group had shuttered its Figueroa St Italian eatery, Zucca Ristorante, and now we know why. Because IDG, or Innovative Dining Group, responsible for the likes of Sushi Roku, Katana, and most recently Delphine, plan to rebrand the restaurant into their own version of Italian which, in this case, translates into a contemporary casual Italian trattoria slated to open this winter. Those are the only details for now, but this Italian concept marks IDG's first exploration into the downtown dining scene.

Update: IDG's new Italian concept will be designed by Studio Collective (The Spare Room, Public)
