Last week through the grapevine came word that Top Chef alum and force behind downtown's The Gorbals, Ilan Hall, was looking to open a second eating establishment downtown and that he was actively perusing locations. LAW caught up with the chef who described this next venture as "a cross between Noma -- the greatest restaurant in the world -- and California Pizza Kitchen." Ha! Menu items could include the likes of BBQ chicken pizza with muskox tartare, and pickled fiddleheads with white truffles. Hall says that the restaurant's name will be derived from a "culinary/hip-hop hybrid." Or not.
