Some might recall Juice It Up!, that Jamba Juice-esque smoothie chain that seemingly shuttered many of its SoCal locations. In fact, NRN reports that the chain closed half of its units since 2008 due to the poor economy, but Juice It Up! plans to growing again with a new focus on fresh juices. One company cafe and six to 10 franchisee locations should open before the end of 2012. Expect juices made with veggies like kale, cucumber, cabbage, spinach, carrot, and beet. [NRN]
