Atwater Crossing Kitchen, the little coffee shop hidden among the design buildings on Casitas Street, is giving birth to a big brother. Currently testing pizzas in their brand new wood-burning oven, the restaurant hopes to expand into the space across the way, adding more seating, a larger menu, and embracing a longer name: Atwater Crossing Wood Fire Kitchen.
Despite ongoing construction, the restaurant has been soft opened for the past month and plans to fully open its doors this summer. Atwater Crossing Wood Fire Kitchen will offer a menu "built around the highest quality ingredients, a true passion for freshly prepared food, and a state-of-the-art Italian wood burning pizza oven." Per a tipster, they've already hired a pastry chef and will soon hire a chef to oversee the new, more expansive menu. [EaterWire]
