Broome St. General Store Soft Opened Last Saturday

New, 5 comments

Following in the footsteps of Joan's on Third and Dean & Deluca, Broome St. General Store opened very quietly this past weekend in Silver Lake. Owners Peter Graham and Sophie Esteban bring the charms of New York's SoHo neighborhood and the farm-to-table sensibilities of Los Angeles together in this charming new marketplace. There is a wide selection of knick-knacks, kitchen supplies and dry goods. You can also pick up breakfast, lunch or dinner to-go or dine-in on the 30-seat patio.

An all-star line-up prepares and delivers the food for Broome St. General Store: Heirloom LA, Valerie Confections and Cake Monkey have the breakfast pastries, menu & desserts covered. For breakfast, pick from hand pies like the leek, Gruyère, Shiitake & potato ($6) or the extremely popular salted caramel croissant. Salads like the Roasted Carrot from McGrath Family Farms and sandwiches like the Lamb Romesco ($7) have the neighborhood swooning. Will there be Lasagna cupcakes? One can only hope. Open now Monday through Friday 7 AM to 7 PM; Saturday 8 AM to 7 PM and Sunday 8 AM to 6 PM. [EaterWire]
