Following up with yesterday's post that Clifton's Cafeteria has shuttered due to a burst water pipe or, per commenters, due to vermin infestation, new owner Andrew Meieran (sort of) addresses concerns: "A routine maintenance item on a steam line expanded to include cleaning up decades of maintenance after the line cracked. Opening up the wall gave us an opportunity to do a much needed deep clean. Welcome to historic structures! We love them with all their idiosyncrasies and faults! We will be open soon and look forward to better serving our customers." [EaterWire]
